Pakistan’s political adviser Rana Sanaullah has said that more than 7,000 militants are currently being trained inside Afghanistan to carry out attacks in Pakistan, warning that Islamabad will continue taking firm action against terrorism and cross-border militant threats.

Speaking in Pakistan’s Senate on Wednesday, Sanaullah alleged that the militant groups operating from Afghan territory are receiving financial support from India and Israel, according to Pakistani media reports. He said the presence of militant training camps and safe havens inside Afghanistan remains a serious security concern for Pakistan.

“There will be no compromise in Pakistan’s determination to eliminate terrorism,” Sanaullah told lawmakers. He added that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has made it clear that the Taliban administration in Afghanistan must decide whether it wants stable relations with Pakistan or wishes to allow militant groups to continue using Afghan soil.

Pakistani officials have repeatedly warned that cross-border militant attacks have increased in recent months, particularly in areas bordering Afghanistan. Islamabad maintains that several armed groups continue to operate freely from inside Afghan territory and are responsible for attacks targeting Pakistani civilians and security forces.

Sanaullah stressed that Pakistan has made enormous sacrifices in the fight against terrorism over the past two decades and will not allow militant networks to destabilize the country again. He said security operations against terrorist threats would continue wherever necessary to protect national security and regional stability.

The remarks come despite ongoing diplomatic and mediation efforts led by China aimed at easing tensions between Islamabad and Kabul. However, Pakistani officials continue to insist that meaningful improvement in bilateral relations depends on concrete action against militant groups operating from Afghanistan.
