Texas: Karachi’s 19-year-old athlete Ryan Habib Ahmed has created history by completing one of the world’s toughest endurance races, the Ironman Triathlon. With this achievement, he has also become the youngest Pakistani to finish the event.

The competition took place in The Woodlands, Texas, where athletes must complete a total distance of 226.3 kilometers. Ryan finished the full challenge in 15 hours, 20 minutes, and 6 seconds.

Youngest Pakistani finisher sets record in Texas Ironman event

The Ironman Triathlon is known for pushing the human body to its extreme limits. It includes three nonstop stages: swimming, cycling, and running.

Ryan started with the swimming stage in Lake Woodlands. The water temperature was around 24 degrees Celsius. He completed the 3.8 kilometer swim in 1 hour and 45 minutes.

After that, he moved to the cycling stage. He covered 180 kilometers on Hardy Toll Road in 7 hours and 27 minutes. This stage tested both his stamina and mental strength.

Finally, Ryan entered the marathon stage. He ran 42.2 kilometers and completed it in 5 hours and 38 minutes. This final stretch pushed him to his physical limit.

Meanwhile, spectators gathered at Waterway Avenue as he crossed the finish line. Ryan proudly raised the green flag of Pakistan to celebrate his success.

In his message on social media, he described the race as the toughest challenge of his life. He also said he wants to inspire young Pakistani athletes to aim higher.

Notably, the cut-off time for Ironman Texas 2026 was 17 hours. Ryan completed it well before the limit, showing strong discipline, training, and determination.
