Laghman, Afghanistan – Security forces of the 201 Khalid bin Walid Division have successfully uncovered and confiscated a significant cache of weapons and ammunition in the Ali Sheng district, Mil Dara area of Laghman province.
According to the Ministry of National Defense, the operation, carried out by the division’s intelligence and reconnaissance units, resulted in the seizure of 226 boxes of ammunition for rifles including DZK, ZK-96, M240, and M16, along with a substantial number of firearms and other military equipment.
The Ministry emphasized that these operations demonstrate the ongoing commitment of Afghan security forces to neutralize illegal arms stockpiles, strengthen regional security, and maintain public safety. Authorities have also stated that intelligence-led operations will continue to prevent the illicit circulation of weapons in Laghman and surrounding provinces.
Security Forces’ Commitment
Officials highlighted that such proactive measures are essential for countering potential insurgent threats and ensuring stability in the region. The confiscated arms will be securely stored and investigated to determine their origin, while the Ministry reiterated its dedication to protecting civilians and supporting lawful governance across Afghanistan.

Despite repeated operations by the Afghan security forces, the Taliban government continues to struggle in maintaining security and controlling the proliferation of weapons and ammunition across provinces like Laghman. These ongoing gaps highlight the persistent threats and challenges posed by the insurgent elements under their governance.
