Islamabad – Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) B. Shivadhar Reddy has given a timeline about the Bondi Beach suspect.

As part of a formal update on the Bondi Attack Suspect, the DGP affirmed that the man, who has been identified as Sajid Akram, had a profound background in Hyderabad before his life took another turn in a foreign land.

Sajid Akram was born and grew up in Hyderabad. In 1998, he decided to relocate to Australia to begin a new life.

For his former neighbors and acquaintances, the news of his alleged involvement in violence has come as a shock, as many remember him as just another young man seeking better opportunities across the ocean.

A History of Regular Visits

Although he spent more than 20 years in Australia, Akram had a strong attachment to his place of origin. Inquiries into the Bondi Attack Suspect reveal that he visited Hyderabad on a number of occasions over the years.

According to his travel records, he visited in 2000, 2004, 2009, 2012, and 2016. These frequent visits indicate that he was in touch with his family and cultural background despite his stay in the foreign country.

His last visit was in 2022, a few years before the tragedy that happened in Australia.

Local authorities are now looking into his interactions during these stays to understand if there were any signs of radicalization or changes in his behavior that might have gone unnoticed by those close to him.

The DGP stressed that the investigation is a question of international collaboration. By releasing the location of Bondi Attack Suspect, Telangana police is hoping to help international agencies to reconstruct his past.
