Washington: US President Donald Trump has said that a peace deal with Iran could be reached within a week. At the same time, he warned that if Iran does not move quickly toward an agreement, the United States may carry out new strikes.
Speaking in a phone interview with a US television channel, Trump said recent discussions between the two countries have been positive. He claimed that both sides have shown willingness to move forward on ending tensions.

Furthermore, Trump said that Iran is currently reviewing proposals from the United States. He added that there is a strong chance of reaching a broader agreement if talks continue in a constructive way.
In addition, he stressed that Iran must not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons under any circumstances. He also said the United States is interested in obtaining enriched uranium from Iran as part of any possible deal.
Meanwhile, Trump said that his administration is in contact with groups inside Iran who support reaching an agreement. However, he made it clear that the final decision depends on Iran’s leadership.
In addition, he repeated his warning over the possible closure of the Strait of Hormuz, saying that any delay in agreement could lead to stronger US action.
Earlier, Trump had also referred to halting certain military-related plans due to progress in talks. However, his latest remarks reflect a tougher tone, highlighting the ongoing uncertainty between diplomacy and rising regional tensions.
