North Waziristan: Security forces in Pakistan have stopped an infiltration attempt along the Pakistan Afghanistan border. According to security sources, an armed individual linked to the banned Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan was killed during the operation.
Officials said the suspect tried to enter Pakistan from the Khost region of Afghanistan. However, alert border troops detected the movement in time and responded quickly. A brief exchange of fire followed, which led to the death of the attacker.
Soon after the incident, the area was secured and cleared. Authorities confirmed that no casualties were reported among Pakistani security forces. The situation was brought under control without further escalation.
Identity Confirmed and Body Handed Over to Afghan Authorities
In the next stage of the process, security sources identified the deceased as Abdullah Jan, also known as Abu Dajana. He was reportedly from the Gardez district of Paktia province in Afghanistan.
Officials stated that he had links with the TTP and was attempting to cross into Pakistan through a known infiltration route. After the operation, his body was initially left on the Afghan side of the border.
Later, Afghan authorities received the body and handed it over to his family. Reports also suggest that his funeral prayers were held in Afghanistan, where local residents attended the ceremony.
Meanwhile, Pakistani security officials said that such infiltration attempts are not new. They added that border forces remain on high alert to stop any movement of militants across the frontier.
In addition, authorities emphasized that strict monitoring is ongoing along the border areas. They said security forces are fully prepared to respond to any threat and prevent terrorist activity inside Pakistan.
Finally, Pakistan has repeatedly urged Afghan authorities to ensure that their territory is not used for cross border militancy. Officials maintain that lasting peace in the region depends on effective cooperation and control of such movements.
