Reports circulating on regional platforms allege that the group claimed to have killed 25 Pakistani soldiers and injured eight others in the assault, while also destroying a military drone. The TTP further asserted that it had briefly taken control of the checkpost.

However, no official statement has yet been issued by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) or other government sources regarding the alleged incident.

Republic TV was the first to report the claim, followed by its amplification across Afghan social media channels. Analysts note that the timing and coordination of the coverage point toward possible linkages between anti-Pakistan networks and regional information outlets.

Pakistani authorities have repeatedly asserted that the TTP operates from Afghan soil with external support. Officials maintain that such attacks are designed to undermine Pakistan’s internal security and strain bilateral relations. They have also accused India of sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan through proxies operating from Afghanistan.

Experts view the development as particularly sensitive, given that it comes at a time when Pakistan and Afghanistan are engaged in security negotiations in Doha, where cross-border militancy and counterterrorism cooperation remain central issues.

Government sources indicate that Pakistan will issue an official position after verifying the ground situation and confirming operational details.
