Islamabad – An audio recording of a recent address by Mufti Borjan Yousafzai, Deputy Emir of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), has shed light on escalating tensions within the group, particularly between the central TTP leadership under Mufti Noor Wali Mehsud and the Jamaat-ul-Ahrar faction.

In the recording, Mufti Borjan referenced a recently issued fatwa that strictly prohibits members from breaking away, forming splinter factions, or establishing parallel organizational structures. The deputy leader warned that those violating this directive would face death, underscoring the severity of internal discipline measures.

The fatwa explicitly mentions Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, rejecting any independent actions by the faction and labeling it as extremist and seditious. This announcement comes after Jamaat-ul-Ahrar previously accused Mufti Noor Wali of orchestrating the killing of the TTP’s founding leader, Khalid Khorasani, further deepening the divide.

Security analysts note that such public statements reflect the growing internal discord within the TTP, highlighting potential struggles over control, loyalty, and organizational hierarchy. The release of this audio is expected to further illuminate the dynamics between TTP’s main leadership and splinter factions.

Authorities and observers are monitoring the situation closely, as such rifts could influence terrorist operations and stability in the region. The full audio recording is expected to be released shortly.
