Washington- June 20, 2025: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has taken a bold step in strengthening strategic dialogue between Pakistan and the United States. During his ongoing official visit to Washington D.C., the COAS held a candid and wide-ranging discussion with prominent scholars, policy experts, and international media representatives.

Organized by key U.S. think tanks, the session offered Pakistan a platform to express its stance on regional and global affairs. The COAS reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to regional peace and a rules-based global order. He highlighted Pakistan’s sacrifices in the global war against terrorism, noting that the country has paid a heavy human and economic price.

He also discussed key military operations such as Maarka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyan al Marsoos, underlining Pakistan’s efforts to counter terrorism and hybrid warfare. The COAS emphasized that certain regional actors continue to exploit terrorism as a tool to destabilize peace in South Asia.

Pakistan’s Economic Potential and Balanced Foreign Policy

In addition to security matters, the COAS spotlighted Pakistan’s untapped potential in sectors such as information technology, agriculture, and mining. He invited global investors to explore collaborative ventures that could lead to shared prosperity.

The COAS reiterated Pakistan’s preference for dialogue and diplomacy in addressing regional conflicts. He stressed that international law must be respected and applied uniformly. Asim Munir noted that Pakistan continues to play a balanced and responsible role in easing tensions across the region.

Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of the Pakistan–U.S. relationship. The two nations, he said, share a history of cooperation in counter-terrorism and regional security. He called for expanding this relationship into economic and technological domains, built on mutual respect and shared goals.

Strategic Dialogue for a Stable Future

Participants in the event appreciated the COAS’s honest and strategic insights. Many praised Pakistan’s consistent policies and welcomed its commitment to peace, development, and global cooperation.

The interaction reaffirmed Pakistan’s focus on strategic dialogue as a key tool for transparent diplomacy and global engagement. It marked another step forward in deepening ties between Islamabad and Washington through open, constructive exchanges.
