Muzaffarabad – 24 April 2025: Indian BSF soldier detained after crossing into Pakistan near border pillar 208/7 while in uniform, violating the international boundary. The incident took place in front of the Pakistani post “Mahfooz,” within the operational area of Bravo Company. The soldier entered approximately 30 meters into Pakistani territory.

A Pakistani Ranger on duty immediately apprehended the intruder. Upon search, the following items were confiscated: one G2 rifle, three magazines with 60 rounds, one water bottle, two mosquito-repellent incense sticks, one torch, a walkie-talkie set, one lighter, and a cloth bag.

The arrested individual was identified as Constable P.K. Singh, a resident of 18/28 T.C. Mukherjee Street, Hooghly District, Kolkata, West Bengal. He claimed to be serving in the 24th BSF Battalion. However, Pakistani intelligence records indicate his unit as the 182nd BSF Battalion.

Moreover, The Indian BSF soldier detained is said to have served in the Indian forces for 17 years. Authorities have moved him to an undisclosed location for further investigation and interrogation. Intelligence officials are currently reviewing the purpose of his crossing and the equipment in his possession.

This border breach adds to existing tensions between the two countries and raises concerns over the intent behind such unauthorized movements. Pakistan’s security forces remain vigilant in safeguarding territorial boundaries and responding promptly to violations.
