Kurram Agency: During a successful operation by security forces in Pakistan’s tribal district of Kurram, an important Afghan Taliban operative and nephew of Qari Amir Abbas Sharafat, the police chief of Musa Khel district in Afghanistan’s Khost province, Hafiz Saifullah alias Asif, has been killed. This significant development emerged during an intelligence-based operation conducted by security forces on Friday, May 15.

The killed militant, Hafiz Saifullah alias Asif, was the son of Mirois Khan and a resident of Rogha village in Bak district of Khost province, Afghanistan. He was initially an active member of the Afghan Taliban and later joined the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). He illegally crossed the Afghan border from Khost into Pakistan’s Kurram district, where he became part of the notorious TTP “Kazim Group” in Kurram and was involved in multiple militant activities.

Defense experts say that the killing of a close relative of a senior district police chief of the Afghan Taliban during militant activities inside Pakistan has exposed Kabul’s claims of non-involvement in terrorism on Pakistani soil.

According to them, this incident is clear evidence that members of the Afghan Taliban are not only providing manpower to the TTP but are also directly crossing into Pakistani territory and taking part in attacks on security forces and innocent civilians. Pakistani security institutions have made it clear that foreign militants and their facilitators who challenge the country’s sovereignty and peace will not be spared under any circumstances.
