NCCIA Cracks Down on Child Exploitation Ring
June 4, 2025:Pakistan’s National Cyber Crimes Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has dismantled a German-led child sexual exploitation ring in Muzaffargarh. The agency rescued ten children and arrested two local suspects during a raid on May 23.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry revealed the operation in a press conference in Islamabad. He explained that the group lured children aged 6–10 by offering games and gifts. Then, the group blackmailed the children and recorded their abuse with high-tech cameras.
The gang uploaded these videos to the dark web. Some videos were live-streamed, attracting global viewers. “This was a deeply organised network, run by a German national,” said Chaudhry. “We will do everything possible to bring him to justice.”
Children Rescued, Further Action Underway
So far, NCCIA has identified 50 victims. The team rescued ten children, and the Child Protection Bureau is now caring for six of them. Authorities have also launched legal action against some parents who participated in the abuse.
Chaudhry shared that the NCCIA conducted the five-hour operation with support from other agencies. He stressed the urgency of increasing resources. “We need more staff and a cybercrime branch in every district,” he urged. He also called for more funding in the upcoming national budget.
The agency has already filed 178 FIRs related to child exploitation. Police arrested 198 suspects, and courts sentenced 14 offenders to prison terms ranging from four to ten years.
The Bigger Picture: Abuse on the Rise
Sahil, a child protection group, reported 3,364 cases of child abuse in 2024 alone. Specifically, these included sexual abuse, abductions, missing children, and child marriages. On average, the data shows that nine children suffered abuse daily. In terms of gender, girls made up 53% of the victims, while boys accounted for 47%.
Meanwhile, NCCIA continues to partner with global groups like the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) to fight child abuse. As a result, the agency pledges fast action on every lead.
Ultimately, Pakistan’s crackdown sends a strong signal: it will not tolerate any German-led child abuse network that targets its youth.
