Beijing: During US President Donald Trump’s recent visit to China, American staff reportedly raised serious security and espionage concerns and discarded all items provided by Chinese officials at the airport before departure, instead of carrying them onboard.

According to US journalist Emily Gadan, the team collected items including temporary ID cards and burner phones and disposed of them in a designated container near the aircraft steps of Air Force One, strictly following security protocols that prohibit taking any China-issued items inside the presidential aircraft.

According to US media reports, security concerns were so serious that members of the American delegation did not bring personal electronic devices into China. Several officials reportedly left their phones and laptops in the United States, fearing that Chinese cybersecurity and intelligence systems could hack their devices or install malware for surveillance purposes.
