Washington: US President Donald Trump made a striking revelation, stating that the United States accepted the ceasefire with Iran purely out of respect for Pakistan and at its request. Speaking informally to journalists aboard Air Force One while returning from his official visit to China, Trump openly discussed recent Middle East developments and the diplomatic efforts surrounding the crisis.

President Trump admitted that he personally was not in favor of the ceasefire with Iran, but ultimately approved the decision due to Pakistan’s sincere diplomatic engagement and mediation efforts. He stated that the move was taken in recognition of America’s strong relationship with Pakistan and in consideration of Islamabad’s request.

During the conversation, the US president also praised Pakistan’s leadership and people, describing them as “remarkable” and “great people.” He specifically highlighted the role played by Pakistan’s Field Marshal and Prime Minister, saying both figures played a highly important part throughout the process.
